Students will have the opportunity to ask questions during class. Students will be provided with all first aid equipment and props to practice treating the above emergencies hands on. Our American Heart Association instructors will work closely with students to make sure they gain confidence in treating emergencies. Students will watch how to treat different emergencies and then practice the skills with our equipment and props. This hands on practice allows students to become comfortable with first aid treatments before a real emergency happens.
There is not a written exam for the Heartsaver class. Students are tested out with skills testing. After the student has demonstrated their skills successfully, they will receive their American Heart Association First Aid Certification Card that is valid for 2 years.
